The CZ Custom Shop, however, can build you one using the new Omega Trigger -- which lets you switch from safety to decocker, or vice versa. A lighter alloy frame with a safety might be the best choice for some folks. I think they call it a P-02-style gun. The P-02 is a new gun, not yet imported to the US.
A full blown trigger job would still help my CZ 75 as the hammer moves backa bit when the triggers pulled in single action. But it good enough for me. Or at least it was until I bought a P-07 from David at CJW with his Combat Kit on it. He makes the Omega trigger better than most off the rack 1911’s on single action.I added these lok grips, installed the CGW 3 spring kit and polished the action and rails. Trigger pull out of the box was a smooth 10lb DA and a comfortable 5 lbs SA with a 1/4" reset. After my work - the DA is 7 lbs and the SA is a sweet 3lbs. This is my normal carry trigger specs for a DA/SA hammer fired pistol.
CZ offers the 75-series pistol in over a dozen different variations, everything from a compact pistol, to an all-out Open-Class Ready IPSC race gun. As you may have noticed, the particular CZ pistol on the bench today is a CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical. This “Tacticool” variant of the SP-01 is available in both 9mm and .40S&W, but our tester is a 9mm. Feels much more solid to me and I shoot it better than the glocks (depending on what sights are on it). I prefer a tuned CZ75 trigger to a tuned glock trigger; the break feels more crisp to me. The only downside to the 75 for me is the complexity of re-assembling the trigger group, and thats really only more of a problem with the decocker models. Website. The handguns in the CZ line employ 2 different primary or active safety mechanisms: the manual safety or the decocking lever. Both of these designs are good safety elements, but both have advantages and disadvantages depending on your perspective or intended use. If you are intimately familiar with 1911 style…. ok, took the CZ Omega to the club, shot a total of 100 rounds, all new ammo, Federal 115 gr, and S&B 115 gr. the CZ shoots like a CZ, and i gotta tell you, that is a sweet trigger outta the box. after i got it home and field stripped it, i removed the decocker levers, and replaced them with the ordinary safety ones. I own a Sp-01 with safety and a P01 with decocker, the safety model has slightly smoother trigger. If you planning on doing any cc I would get decocker model. Both are a pleasure to shoot and you couldn’t go wrong with either model. Personally I would go with what’s available leaning toward the safety model. .
