The seat will not recall when entering the vehicle. The seat only moves when pressing and holding the Memory 1, Memory 2, or Exit buttons down. The seat stops moving when releasing the Memory 1, Memory 2, or Exit buttons. Sometimes the seat moves completely to the stored position by pressing and releasing the Memory 1, Memory 2, or Exit buttons.
So I noticed the memory for my power seats has stopped working a few days ago. Now when I press "set" to actually reset them nothing happens. No beeps and nothing lights up. I looked in the manual and it just says to have the car in "Power Mode" and press the set button. Then press either button 1 or 2 and you should hear some beeps and your done.

Older Subarus have been bad for uncomfortable squidgy seats as much as Audi are bad for rock hard sports seats. I guess you need to decide if the Q5 pros outweigh the cons.

Whenever any connection fails, the whole memory seat configuration is lost and you can't then set any new position. This includes the passenger seat control in the AMI. If my case, when the connection inside the motor happened to re-connect, the whole system worked again.

Unlock the vehicle, turn on the accessories (no need to start the car), select user and pick the local user profile you just made, have your other driver adjust everything, save the seat position to #2 if you want, then turn off the accessories, leave the car, and lock the car with the button on that fob #2.

Next I tried this - With car running, and park brake on, re-positioned the seat, pressed "Set", pressed "1" next. no success, seat just goes back to position "1". Try holding the set button down a few seconds longer before selecting the "1". I was having the same problem also when I first got the car and read the manual.

Driver seat control not working except lumbar control works and seat heats up. Replaced switch, no difference. Passenger seat works perfect. Memory switch will adjust the drivers seat even though the main driver seat switches will not. So seat is getting power. Only code I am getting is the 01336 data bus for comfort system. Single wire operation.
